abstract

voltages and currents are induced into electronic circuit boards as electromagnetic waves are radiated on them. the strength of induction depends on the wavefront and the circuit board characteristics. in this paper, by solving maxwell’s equations using fdtd method and then by extending it by three dimensional simulation using the gpml criteria for boundary conditions and tf/sf technique, effect of wave propagation characteristics on induction into microstrip lines of the circuit board and its surrounding was investigated. converting electrical equations into electromagnetic counterparts in the gummel-poon model has then provided the possibility of performance analysis of bjt with wave equations. comparison of experimental and simulation results have shown that for the analysis of electromagnetic wave effects on electronic circuits one can use active electronic component models in simulation with fdtd methods.

Three-dimensional FDTD simulation of biomaterial exposure to electromagnetic nanopulses.

Ultra-wideband (UWB) electromagnetic pulses of nanosecond duration, or nanopulses, have recently been approved by the Federal Communications Commission for a number of different applications. They are also being explored for applications in biotechnology and medicine. The simulation of the propagation of a nanopulse through biological matter, previously performed using a two-dimensional finite-...

Three-Dimensional FDTD Simulation of Electromagnetic Wave Transformation in a Dynamic Inhomogeneous Magnetized Plasma

A three-dimensional (3-D) finite-difference timedomain (FDTD) algorithm is developed to study the transformation of an electromagnetic wave by a dynamic (time-varying) inhomogeneous magnetized plasma medium. The current density vector is positioned at the center of the Yee cube to accommodate the anisotropy of the plasma medium due to the presence of a static magnetic field. An appropriate time...

Analysis of Planar Microstrip Circuits Using Three-Dimensional Transmission Line Matrix Method

The frequency-dependent characteristics of microstrip planar circuits have been previously analyzed using several full-wave approaches. All those methods directly give characteristic of the circuits frequency by frequency. Computation time becomes important if these planar circuits have to be studied over a very large bandwidth. The transmission line matrix (TLM) method presented in this paper ...

Three-Dimensional Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis Using Constrained Interpolation Profile Method

A characteristic-based constrained interpolation profile (CIP) method for solving three-dimensional, time-dependent Maxwell’s equations is successfully developed. It is utilized to solve one-dimensional wave equations in the formulation of the Maxwell’s equations. Calculation procedure of the CIP method for three-dimensional scattering analysis is described in details. Update equations for boun...

Simulation of Wave Propagation over Coastal Structures Using WCSPH Method

In this paper a space-averaged Navier–Stokes approach was deployed to simulate the wave propagation over coastal structures. The developed model is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) method which is a pure Lagrangian approach and can handle large deformations of the free surface with high accuracy. In this study, the large eddy simulation (LES) turbulent model was coupled with th...
